Excellent. I was born in Claylands Road and played in Vauxhall Park, seventy years ago. The whole area is steeped in history, the vinegar factory, the potteries, the railway works etc. etc. now all buried under tower blocks which nobody can afford to buy. Bonnington Square is interesting. I worked in the late sixties for Lambeth Public Health Department and I remember the letters asking to be moved from the square as it was so unhealthy and overcrowded, it was really awful. Many of the victorian houses tin SW8 were in multi occupation, several families sharing a single outside toilet. These houses now sell for nearly £1m. Funny old world. I could write a book.

I have a few friends who live in the Bonnington Square area - it's such a fantastic little community with two excellent cafes. Few know the history! Thanks for your memories :)
